You can always find something to do; camp within the pristine forests, swim or boat along the great lakes coastlines and hike the cliffs and dunes of the beautiful lake shore.

Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore
Sleeping Bear Dunes lies 450 feet above Lake Michigan and boasts a beautiful view of the clear, blue water. There is a legend of the sleeping bear that will tug on the heart strings. It’s a great story of a mothers love and is full of beautiful art that any kid would enjoy. You can purchase The Legend of the Sleeping Bear here.
Kitchitikipi Springs is one of the largest fresh water springs in Michigan. It’s over 40′ deep and stays 45 degrees all year around. You can ride a self guided raft that has an opening in the middle, which enables visitors to see to the bottom of the spring. Even at the deepest point, it is so clear that you can see the water bubbling up from the sandy bottom. It even looks as though your could reach out and touch the fish.
The city of Petoskey has to be one of my favorite places in Michigan. It’s home to beautiful beaches, great shopping, and the legendary Petoskey Stone. People often hunt these stones on Lake Michigan to keep as a souvenir. They are used to make numerous items, such as jewelry and wine stoppers. Although when you have a grandma who is an avid rock collector, like mine, they tend to make more extravagant items, such as table tops. If you want to try your hand at making your own petoskey stone jewelry, you can purchase supplies here.
The city of Charlevoix is absolutely charming! There is stunning architecture in the stone homes, blue water beaches and nature preserves. This is a great city with a lot of charm.
Located on the shores of Lake Superior lies the Pictured Rock National Lake shore, a photographers dream. The cliffs are stunning sandstone formations created from Lake Superiors beating on the rock. When visiting here, it’s a must to take a hike and see all the breathtaking beauty, such as, cliffs, waterfalls, forests and dunes.
